US and North Korea to resume talks

North Korea and the US have agreed to resume talks on denuclearisaton after months of stalled dialogue and short range missile tests Pyongyang.

Officials from both countries said talks would be held this weekend.

Nigerian State Visit to South Africa

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will host Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari for a State Visit on Thursday (03 October).

Padma River Close to Flooding in Bangladesh

While in Washington, Indian Foreign Minister defends purchase of S400 missiles

Subramanyam Jaishankar, India's foreign affairs minisister  has called the country's decision to buy the S400 missile from Russia "a sovereign right".

Report: Trump asked Australian PM to help probe into Mueller investigation

The New York Times is reporting that President Trump asked the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison to help investigate the origins of Robert Mueller's inquiry into ties between the Trump campaign and the Russians.


A transcript of a recent telephone conversation between the two leaders is reported to have been classified at an unusually high level by the US government.

US sanctions Russians over 2018 midterm elections interference

The Trump administration has imposed new sanctions on Russia over attempts to interfere in the 2018 US mid-term elections.

They apply to four entities and seven individuals, including Yevgeniy Prigozhin, the Russian financier behind so-called "troll farm", the Internet Research Agency.

The U.S. intelligence community says it also conducted the Russian government's disinformation campaign in the 2016 presidential campaign.
