Trump cuts number of refugees allowed into US by nearly half

President Trump has cut the number of refugees being allowed to resettle in the United States by almost half.

The administration says it will only accept 18,000 people seeking protection from violence or political persecution - down from the current limit of 30,000.

Prince Harry in Angola for anti-landmine campaign


Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex has visited a landmine clearance charity in Angola.


He is following in the footsteps of his late mother Princess Dianna and hopes to raise awareness of the issue of landmines and those who live within the area where they are a threat.

Juncker says no-deal Brexit would be UK's fault: German daily

UK BREXIT SECRETARY MEETS EU

Russian Parliament says Deutsche Welle broke law

Russia's parliament says it will ask the country's Foreign Ministry to consider revoking German broadcaster Deutsche Welle's right to work in the country for allegedly breaking Russian laws.

The broadcaster is accused of urging Russians to attend an unauthorised protest this summer- a charge it denies.

BREXIT TALKS CONTINUE IN BRUSSELS

UK Brexit Secretary Stephen Barclay's meeting EU chief negotiator Michel Barnier for talks in Brussels (Friday).

Mr Barnier told diplomats on Thursday the UK's current proposals to avoid an Irish border backstop are unworkable.

But UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson insists a deal can be done before the end of October.

It comes as speculation grows about the legal avenues the government is exploring to avoid requesting a Brexit extension as required by new legislation if a deal isn't reached.

Nasa says India's spacecraft made "hard landing" on moon

India's unsuccessful moon mission, which saw its spacecraft losing contact moments before it due to touch down on the lunar surface, had a "hard landing", Nasa says.

India was hoping to become the first country to land on the lunar south pole when the attempt was made earlier this month.

Trump seeks identity of whistleblower sources within White House, calls them "close to a spy"

President Trump says the officials within his White House who provided information to a whistleblower are close to being "spies" and he's demanding that they be unmasked.

Bangladesh gets inspired with Delhi's new curriculum for students

Bangladesh's Primary Education Minister, Zakir Hussain met Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday.

They visited a public school in New Delhi to observe the Happiness Curriculum in action.

The Delhi government introduced this course in public schools in 2018, and recently celebrated its one-year anniversary.

DR Congo Measles Vaccination

UK PARLIAMENT WILL NOT BE SUSPENDED FOR CONSERVATIVE PARTY CONFERENCE

British lawmakers have voted against a three-day suspension of parliament, which would allow the Conservative party to hold its annual conference in Manchester.

It comes after the government attempted to suspend Parliament for five weeks, through a process called prorogation, but were found to have acted unlawfully.
