ISRAEL ELECTION NECK AND NECK

Israel's second election in five months appears to have produced an inconclusive result.

Israeli media believe Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's party and that of Benny Gantz are effectively neck and neck in terms of seats in parliament.

Mr Netanyahu's right-wing Likud Party faced a challenge from Benny Gantz's centrist Blue and White party.

James Sorene, CEO of Israel think-tank BICOM, says it looks like a difficult outcome for Benjamin Netanyahu.

JUNCKER: PREPARED TO WORK 'DAY IN, DAY OUT' FOR BREXIT DEAL

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker says he'll work 'day in, day out' to reach a Brexit deal with the UK.

Speaking in Strasbourg to MEPs, Mr Juncker said the risk of a 'no deal' Brexit is 'palpable'.

But he says the EU is willing to listen to proposals from the UK to replace the controversial Irish border backstop.

He's been updating the European Parliament after holding talks with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson in Luxembourg on Monday.

Pakistan occupied Kashmir part of India says India's Foreign Minister

UK SUPREME COURT PROROGATION CASE CONTINUES

The UK's Supreme Court is holding a second day of hearings into whether it was unlawful for Boris Johnson to suspend Parliament.

Critics of the Prime Minister say he prorogued Parliament to avoid scrutiny of Brexit and misled the Queen with his advice.

The government argues that it wanted to bring a Parliamentary session to an end so it could set out a new legislative agenda - and says this is not a matter for the courts.

Vladimir Putin to meet Chinese Premier Li Keqiang

UGANDA RWANDA TALKS ON EXTRADITION

Uganda and Rwanda have agreed to finalize the treaty on extradition in order to provide a basis for the future exchange of criminal fugitives.

 

The two countries have accused each other of harboring groups that want to undermine their country's security.

Trump Admin to Revoke California's Emissions Control Authority

The Trump administration is expected to formally revoke California's legal authority to set auto emissions rules that are stricter than the federal government's rules. 

The move sets up a legal battle between the federal government and California, the most populous state in the U.S.

Justice Department Sues for Proceeds from Snowden's Book

Saudi oil refinery attack weighs on European markets


Saturday's attack on a Saudi oil refinery weighed on European stock markets for a second day, with Germany's DAX and the FTSE 100 in London both dipping into the red on Tuesday.

Delhi’s last elephant may have been found

In a bizarre case, the last remaining elephant in Delhi, has gone missing - and been found in the city all along.

In July, keeper Yusuf Ali was said to have fled with Lakshmi, fearing that forest officials would seize the animal.

French authorities clear migrant camp outside Dunkirk

Apple’s begins appeal over $14 billion EU tax bill

Apple has begun its legal challenge against the European Union, who says the iPhone maker owes 14 billion US dollars in back taxes to Ireland.
