France to run Brexit rehearsals

France is going to rehearse its preparedness for Brexit over the course of a month.

Customs Minister Gerald Darmanin says some large companies will trial measures to get ready for Brexit on the 31st of October. 

It comes as he is due to meet Michael Gove, the British minister in charge of no-deal Brexit planning.

UK TO 'INTENSIFY' BREXIT NEGOTIATIONS

The UK says it is stepping up efforts to reach a Brexit deal with the European Union.

British and EU negotiators will meet twice a week from next month, ahead of a summit in Brussels on 17th October.

The EU says it still looking for the UK to make 'concrete proposals' on alternatives to the Irish backstop.

And it comes amid controversy over Prime Minister Boris Johnson's decision to suspend Parliament in September and October.

Uganda Confirms an Ebola Case from DR Congo

Uganda confirms another case of ebola in its western district of Kasese.


The confirmed case is a nine year old child who traveled with her mom from the DRC. They entered Uganda through the Mpondwe border point in Kasese.

Hong Kong activists Joshua Wong, Agnes Chow arrested ahead of weekend rallies

Indian state of Assam to publish list of illegal immigrants

Greta Thunberg arrives in NYC after crossing Atlantic Ocean by sailboat

Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg arrived in New York City on Wednesday, after crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a zero-emissions racing yacht that left the UK on August 14th. 


She came on land at a New York marina in the late afternoon to awaiting news crews, after sailing for two weeks in a widely tracked journey.
