British and EU negotiators will meet twice a week from next month, ahead of a summit in Brussels on 17th October.
The EU says it still looking for the UK to make 'concrete proposals' on alternatives to the Irish backstop.
And it comes amid controversy over Prime Minister Boris Johnson's decision to suspend Parliament in September and October.

Greta Thunberg arrives in NYC after crossing Atlantic Ocean by sailboat
Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg arrived in New York City on Wednesday, after crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a zero-emissions racing yacht that left the UK on August 14th.
She came on land at a New York marina in the late afternoon to awaiting news crews, after sailing for two weeks in a widely tracked journey.
