Trump urges calm in Hong Kong

US President Donald Trump says US intelligence believes the Chinese government is moving troops towards the border with Hong Kong, as clashes between police and protesters in the city intensify.

Flight check-in has been suspended in Hong Kong international airport for a second day as protesters occupied the terminal building.

US delays China tariffs on tech products such as cell phones and laptops


The US is delaying tariffs on tech products like cell phones and laptops imported from China.

The US Trade Representative's office in Washington also announced it's removing certain items from the tariff list altogether for health, national security and other reasons.

Ebola drugs 90% effective

Scientists say Ebola drug trials in the the Democratic Republic of the
Congo have saved more than 90% of patients, a significant breakthrough
in the fight against the disease.

The United Nations World Health Organization has been testing the new
medicine on patients since November.

Areas near Notre-Dame to be decontaminates

Areas around the burnt-out Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris are going to be decontaminated of lead. 

High concentrations of the chemical were blown into the sky when the building caught alight in April. 

It follows an earlier effort to clean-up schools over health fears.

Kremlin dismisses protest movement as ‘not significant’

There's been fresh disruption at Hong Kong's international airport as pro-democracy protests continue there.

It comes as the territory's leader Carrie Lam warned of Hong Kong being pushed down a 'path of no return' if violent clashes at demonstrations continue.

Hong Kong's seen ten weeks of protests which started over a controversial extradition bill.

The demonstrations have developed into a broader pro-democracy movement and many protesters are also angry at their treatment by Hong Kong's police.

US Attorney General criticises Epstein prison

US Attorney General William Barr has criticised "serious irregularities" at the jail where the alleged sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was found dead on Saturday.

The New York Times reports one of the two people guarding Mr Epstein was not a full-fledged officer, and neither guard checked on Epstein's cell for several hours before he was discovered.

Trump Tightens Regulations for Immigrants on Benefits

Immigrants who are legally living in the United States but use government benefits such as Medicaid, housing support or food stamps will soon face tougher restrictions on their path to US citizenship.
