French farmers attack offices of members of parliament

French farmers are protesting against the EU's CETA trade deal with Canada by vandalising the constituency offices of French MPs who voted to approve it.

The farmers fear the deal will open the door to cheap meat exports and lower prices.

Trump unveils fresh tariffs on China despite "constructive" talks in Shanghai

President Trump has announced a major intensification of America's trade war with China.


He says he's to impose additional tariffs of ten per cent on another 300 billion dollars of Chinese products.

DR Congo Accuses Rwanda of Closing Border Over Ebola

Rwanda has denied claims by the Democratic Republic of Congo that it closed the border between the two countries over Ebola fears.

Indian court to probe alleged threats by a ruling party leader in rape case

India's highest court has intervened in the rape trial of a teenager who has alleged she was assaulted by a regional leader of the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party.

The 19-year-old woman was critically injured in a car accident this week when a truck smashed into her vehicle. Her family alleges that the attack was carried out at the behest of the accused politician.

Biden under fire in televised debate [CLIPS]
