Sudanese military, protesters sign power-sharing deal

Sudan's ruling military council and opposition leaders have signed part of a power-sharing deal. 

 

The agreement is meant to end the country's deadlock after talks that followed protests since President Omar al-bashir was deposed in April.

G7 finance ministers to talk trade and digital tax

The G7's finance ministers are meeting in Chantilly outside Paris on Wednesday and Thursday - with cryptocurrencies, trade tariffs and a digital tax all on the agenda.

NAZANIN MOVED TO PSYCHIATRIC WARD IN IRAN

A British-Iranian woman jailed in Iran on spying charges has been moved to a psychiatric ward.

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was jailed in 2016 for spying, which she has always denied.

Her husband says the Iranian Revolutionary Guard are holding her in a Tehran hospital.

She went on a hunger strike last month to protest against her imprisonment.

Richard Ratcliffe says he's increasingly concerned for his wife.

Scientists emerge from space isolation experiement


Six scientists will emerge from a four-month isolation experiment on Wednesday as part of research into how humans respond to long-distance space travel.

The project - run by the Russian, European and US Space agencies - saw volunteers simulate a mission to the moon.

ICJ to pronounce verdict on Indian 'spy'

The International Court of Justice will on Wednesday decide whether or not the death sentence awarded to an Indian national by Pakistan can be upheld. 

The Indian national was arrested by Pakistan in 2016 and sentenced to death on allegations of espionage- a charge New Delhi denies. This case has stoked tensions between the two nuclear armed rivals.

EU PUNISHES TURKEY FOR CYPRUS DRILLING

The European Union has approved measures to punish Turkey over its drilling off the coast of Cyprus. 

EU Foreign Ministers decided to pull millions in financial aid and stall high level talks for what it describes as "illegal activities" by Ankara. 

Responding to the moves the Turkish Foreign Ministry said their drilling operation would not be affected "in the slightest" and there's no need to take the EU's steps seriously.
