India economy expected to pick up this year, government says

India's economy is predicted to pick up to 7 per cent in the current financial year compared to 6.8 per cent the previous year, according to the government.

This comes ahead of India announcing its annual budget on Friday, which will be closely watched after the Narendra Modi led government was re-elected in May.

Boeing sets $100mln fund for families of 737 Max Jet air crash victims

American aircraft manufacturer, Boeing is pledging $100 million dollars to help families and communities affected by the two deadly crashes involving its 737 MAX airliner.

The money will go to nonprofits and groups that will distribute the funds to relatives of the 346 people who died in the crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia.

AU condemns Libya attack on migrants

The African Union commission is calling for an independent
investigation into the bombing of a detention centre in Libya where
over 40 people are reported to have been killed.
