US to sanction Iranian oil buyers

The United States is adding extra pressure on Iran with the
announcement it will impose sanctions on any country that imports
Iranian oil.

The US special envoy for the country warned there would be no exceptions.

Expectations low ahead of Trump-Xi trade talks in Osaka

US President Donald Trump on Friday expressed hope that trade talks with Chinese president Xi Jinping this Saturday would be productive, but said it doesn't mean that further tariffs are off the table. 


The two world leaders are meeting in Osaka on the sidelines of the G20 summit to try and end an escalating trade war now entering its second year.

France experiences hottest temperature on record

France has experienced its hottest temperature since records began, as much of Europe continues to a sweat in a week-long heatwave.

The mercury hit 44.3 degrees in Carpentras in the Vaucluse region on Friday afternoon, beating the previous record set in 2003.

DRC Mine Accident Kills 36

Twitter has introduced a new policy to hide the tweets of politicians who break the platform's rules. Twitter has been criticised for letting politicians break its rules prohibiting harassment and other hateful conduct, in the name of newsworthiness.
