Chinese, US Officials Hold Call Ahead of Pivotal Trump-Xi Meeting

Chinese and US trade officials spoke over the phone ahead of a highly anticipated meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Osaka later this week.

Reports say the two sides exchanged opinions on trade and agreed to keep in contact.

Front-runner to be the next UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson says he doesn't believe Britain will leave the EU without a deal.

Pompeo to talk trade, defence with India

US Secretary of State will commence his three day visit to India on Tuesday.

Suspected coup leader shot dead in Ethiopia, according to police


The general suspected of leading a failed coup in Ethiopia's Amhara region has been shot dead, according to local police.

Ethiopian officials accused Brigadier General Asaminew Tsig of planning Saturday's deadly attacks on multiple senior officials in Amhara, including the regional president.

Pompeo meets Saudi King to discuss Iran

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has met with Saudi Arabia's leader to discuss rising tensions with Iran.

Iran is accused by the US of being responsible for explosions on board two oil tankers in the Gulf of Hormuz.

Last week they shot down a US drone they claimed was in Iranian airspace.

Bodies of missing climbers retrieved in the Himalayas
