Cyclone changes course to avoid making landfall in Gujarat in west India

A cyclone that was expected to make landfall in Gujarat has changed course and will not hit the Indian coastline, the India Meteorological Department says.

The state remains on high alert, however.

Hong Kong Braces for Further Protests, Though Rain May Dampen Crowds

Hong Kong is braced for more anti-government protests - a day after riot police used tear gas and rubber bullets on the crowds.

The city has been blanketed in rain, reducing the chances of another mass protest against proposed laws to loosen laws on extradition to mainland China.

World Health Organization Confirms One Death from Ebola in Uganda
