Authorities in India assess damage following Cyclone Fani

Authorities are carrying out an assessment of the damage caused by Cyclone Fani (PRON: FORNI) in the east Indian state of Odisha. 

More than 70 people were killed when the cyclone hit India and Bangladesh earlier this month.

EU Rejects US Strategy on Iran

European diplomats have made it clear they do not support Washington's escalation tactic with Iran.

Electric scooters targeted by authorities in Paris

Companies which rent electric scooters in Paris will face more regulation from the city's authorities. 

The streets of the French capital have been flooded with the devices within the last year.

The state of Odisha in India has confirmed that there were 21 more deaths due to Cyclone Fani (PRON: FORNI) which hit the coast of ten days ago with wind speeds of up to 200 kilometres per hour. 

This brings the death toll in the state up to 64. Millions of people are still without power and water,

Top White House economic contradicts Trump, says US 'will pay' for new China-tariffs

The sides failed to agree terms last week in the latest round of negotiations, just as Mr Trump announced a major tariff hike on $200 billion dollars worth of Chinese goods.

The sixth phase of polling in India has 59 constituencies across six states and the national capital voting.

In the last general election in 2014, Prime Minister Modi's ruling Bhartiya Janata Party had won 45 of these seats. 

The last phase of polling will take place on May 19, with votes counted on May 23.
