US seizes "sanctions busting" North Korean cargo vessel

The US has seized one of  North Korea's largest ships, accusing it of violating sanctions.


The "Wise Honest" is now in American custody after allegedly being used to ship coal and heavy machinery to North Korea.

Trump's China Trade Gambit Shakes Global Stocks

POLICE INVESTIGATING JOURNALIST MURDER ARREST FOUR MEN IN NORTHERN IRELAND

Police investigating the murder of journalist Lyra McKee in Northern Ireland have made four arrests under terrorism legislation. 


McKee was shot while reporting on rioting in Londonderry. The New IRA said its members carried out the killing.

UK OPPOSITION LAUNCHES EUROPEAN ELECTIONS CAMPAIGN

The UK's opposition Party have launched an European elections campaign, ahead of the vote on May 23rd.


But the Prime Minster's Conservative party are unlikely to campaign, as they are focused on leaving the EU.

EU COMMITTED TO IRAN DEAL

The EU says it is fully committed to the 2015 Nuclear Deal after Iran announced on Wednesday it would be pulling back on some of its commitments.


In a joint statement from the European Union and the Foreign Ministers of France, Germany and the United Kingdom it says  "We are determined to continue pursuing efforts to enable the continuation of legitimate trade with Iran."

The UNHCR Warns of Possible Refugee Influx in to Uganda

A batch of Australia's $50 notes are being passed through the hands of people with a tiny error in the fine print.

ROMANIA EU SUMMIT

Romania plays host to an informal meeting of European heads of state on Thursday.


The summit was once envisioned as a post-Brexit gathering among the EU27.

Indian Prime Minister hits out at the Gandhi family again

In the second such attack in a week, India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hit out at former premier Rajiv Gandhi.  

Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by a suicide bomber in 1991. His son Rahul is believed to be the key challenger to Prime Minister Modi's re-election bid.

House committee votes to hold U.S. Attorney General in contempt


The democrat-led House Judiciary Committee voted along party lines to find the U.S. Attorney General in contempt of congress, Wednesday.

The resolution was debated by lawmakers after William Barr refused to comply with a subpoena demanding the release of the complete, unredacted, Mueller report and underlying evidence.

US Secretary of State Meets UK Prime Minster and Foreign Secretary
