Eurostar chaos in Paris to continue until April

Eurostar passengers are being told not to travel on the train services between Paris and London until April. 

A work to rule action started by French customs officers near the beginning of the month has lead to 6 hour queues. 

The strike had been due to end on Wednesday but has been extended until at least Sunday.

JAPAN AND RUSSIA MEET FOR PEACE TALKS

Japan and Russia are meeting in Moscow to continue talks over a possible peace treaty. The two countries have never signed a peace agreement since the end of the Second World War, and although they do now have good relations, they still disagree about the future of a group of islands in the Pacific Ocean. May to Seek Brexit Extension in Brussels

There are now just eight days to go until the UK is set to officially leave the EU.

CYCLONE IDAI DEATH TOLL GROWS

At least 300 people are confirmed dead in Zimbabwe and Mozambique after Cyclone Idai - with the death toll expected to climb far higher.

Rescuers are still struggling to reach thousands of survivors in Mozambique, where the port city of Beira has been completely devastated.

Doctors say disease is a huge threat because of a lack of clean water and food.

Beira was struck by Idai last week but the scale of the disaster has been slow to become clear due to difficulties reaching affected areas.

FAA: Boeing developing software update and pilot training for 737 MAX jets


US aviation authorities say Boeing has developed a software update and pilot training to solve issues with its 737 MAX jets after last year's Lion Air disaster.

UK PM MAKES BREXIT ADDRESS TO NATION

UK Prime Minister Theresa May's made a direct appeal to the British people for backing for her Brexit deal.

It comes after she requested a delay in the Brexit process from March 29th to June 30th.

EU leaders may not sign off on her request at a summit on Thursday in Brussels.

But European Council President Donald Tusk says a short delay would be likely to be agreed if she can get the Brexit deal agreed with Brussels through the House of Commons next week.

In an address to the nation at Downing Street Mrs May promised she wouldn't accept a delay longer than June 30th.

But UK correspondent Olly Barratt says there wasn't much new in the speech.

EU fines Google US$1.7B for antitrust violation

The European Commission has fined Google nearly 1.5 billion euros — about 1.7 billion US dollars — for breaching European Union antitrust rules. 


The EU alleges that Google illegally misused its dominance in the market to quash competition, in its third violation of EU antitrust laws in three years.

U.S. government calls for review after plane crash

The U.S. government has called for a review to examine the Federal
Aviation Authority's approval of the Boeing 737 Max 8 jet.

This comes is the wake of two deadly plane crashes involving this
model of plane in the space of five months.

US and China to resume trade negotiations - could reach deal next month

Trade negotiators for the US and China will meet again in Beijing and Washington as they aim to reach a deal by the end of next month.


The  two countries have imposed tariffs on billions of dollars' worth of one another's goods over the past year.

Millions Affected by Cyclone Idai

The UN has launched a humanitarian appeal of $20million dollars for those affected by cyclone Idai in the South East coast of Africa.

Its estimated over 1000 people may have perished and the death toll is expected to rise.

Trump Jr slams May over Brexit negotiations

US President Donald Trump's eldest son has slammed British Prime Minister Theresa May for her handling of Brexit and says the "establishment" is trying to "silence the voices" of voters.
