Bruce Harrison reports from Seoul.

Several countries are already using 5G in a limited capacity.

But South Korea will be the first to put it in the palm of your hand.

Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki told other officials in Seoul that telecommunication companies will be prepared to launch 5G mobile service next month.

5G data transmission speeds are 40 to 50 times faster than 4G.

But the new infrastructure is still limited to only parts of big cities in South Korea.

And you'll need a new phone.

Samsung is revealing its new 5G-capable phones this week.

They'll go on sale here next month.

HONDA CLOSES UK PLANT

Japanese carmaker Honda's confirmed it's closing a major plant in Swindon in England, with the loss of around 3500 jobs.

Honda says it's due to 'unprecedented changes' for the industry, and a need to speed up its 'electrification strategy'.

And it follows a decision by fellow Japanese carmaker Nissan to make its new X-Trail SUV in Japan, not the UK.
