Special representative Stephen Biegun arrives in Seoul on Sunday ahead of talks with North Korea.

According to the State Department, he'll meet Kim Hyok-chol, a former ambassador to Spain.

The exact date or location for the talks haven't been announced.

Washington says Biegun will discuss how to follow through on the goals President Donald Trump and leader Kim Jong-un set at their Singapore summit last June.

The two leaders agreed to rid the Korean Peninsula of nuclear weapons. But little progress has been made so far.

Trump and Kim expected to meet again before the end of this month, although the time and place are yet to be confirmed.
