SEARCH RESUMES FOR SALA PLANE

Searches continue for the missing plane which was carrying Premier League footballer Emiliano Sala.

The aircraft he was in lost contact close to the Channel Islands on Monday.

It's reported he sent a voice message to his family via WhatsApp, saying he feared the plane was falling apart.

Emiliano Sala was en route to Cardiff - having signed for EPL side Cardiff City in a record deal.

India arrests 31 Rohingyas stranded at Indo-Bangladesh border

The Indian government has taken 31 Rohingya refugees into custody at its eastern border with Bangladesh. Reports suggest these refugees were trying to flee India amid a government crackdown on Rohingyas.

The government also denied allegations made by Bangladeshi officials who have claimed that Indian forces were forcibly pushing the refugees over the border.

US Senate to vote on competing proposals to end government shutdown - both likely to fail

As 800,000 US government workers contemplate their second missed paycheck due on Friday, the US Senate will vote on two competing proposals aimed at ending the ongoing government shutdown.

UN approves exemptions for aid to North Korea

The United Nations has approved sanctions exemptions for humanitarian aid to North Korea. Provisions have been delayed over concerns of international sanctions violations against North Korea's nuclear program.

According to the UN, four organizations have been approved to send aid to North Korea.


Exemptions include the shipment of treatment for tuberculosis and malaria.


Computers, televisions and ambulances for hospital use were also approved.


The exemptions last for six months.


Humanitarian activity is not banned in North Korea, but materials used in aid missions could be subject to international sanctions.


The United States in particular has been criticized for slowing delivery while it reviewed exemption requests at the UN Security Council.

Supreme Court rules on transgender military ban

The US Supreme Court has allowed President Trump's transgender military restrictions to go into effect while lawsuits continue.

The court voted 5-4 in favour of temporarily reinstating the policy, which lower courts had blocked in the face of legal challenges.

Italy to connect Eritrea and Ethiopia by Railway

Italy has promised to finance a feasibility study for a planned railway line project linking an Eritrean port with the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.

Wales Bound Plane Missing

The French Civil Aviation Authority has confirmed Cardiff City's new forward Emiliano Sala was onbord a plane which has gone missing.


The small aircraft was heading to the Welsh capital from Nantes in France when it disappeared from radar on Monday.

Premier League Footballer's Plane Missing


A light aircraft believed to be carrying Premier League football player Emiliano Sala has gone missing after it left northern France on Monday night.

A search over where the aircraft last made contact hand been suspended for six hours overnight but has now resumed.
