BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY STARS AT GOLDEN GLOBES

Bohemian Rhapsody has won best film drama at the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles.

Its star Rami Malek also took home best drama actor for his portrayal of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury.

Green Book was also a big winner, with three awards - best musical or comedy film, best screenplay, and best supporting actor for Mahershala Ali.

The Golden Globes are awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

UK MPs WARN AGAINST 'NO DEAL' BREXIT

Over 200 UK MPs have signed a letter to Prime Minister Theresa May, calling on her to rule out leaving the European Union with no deal.

Britain's due to leave the EU in March, but Theresa May's deal agreed with Brussels needs to be passed by the UK's Parliament.

A vote is due to take place on that agreement next week.

Many of her own lawmakers continue to oppose it, and some insist a 'no deal' Brexit would be a better outcome.

Pope Francis Pleas Europe to Take in 49 Migrants

Pope Francis is pleading European leaders to allow 49 migrants to land on shore.

For more than a week now, the migrants have been stuck on two rescue ships that both Malta and Italy are refusing to let dock.

N. Korea warns U.S. again over sanctions pressure

North Korea has warned the U.S. for the second time in a week over international sanctions. The rhetoric is another sign North Korea may be no closer to give up its nuclear weapons despite peace efforts last year.

North Korean state media warned there will be 'consequences' for the U.S. if it continues with pressure and sanctions.


The remarks come less than a week after Kim Jong-un warned in his New Year's address he'll take a different path if Washington sticks with sanctions.


Last year, Kim halted missile tests and promised to give up his nuclear weapons.


But the U.S. doesn't believe North Korea has does enough to warrant any change in its stance.


Still, Washington says it plans to hold a second summit between President Trump and Kim early this year.

President Trump says negotiating a location for meeting meeting with Kim Jong Un

U.S. President Donald Trump says negotiations are underway in deciding
a location for a second meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The President says an announcement will be made soon and that both
sides share a very good dialogue.

Kim and Trump met in Singapore last year but critics say little
progress was made in getting Pyongyang to abandon its nuclear program.

U.S. government shutdown enters third week

The partial U.S. government shutdown has entered its third week as
lawmakers remain divided over whether funding should be allocated for
a border wall.

On Saturday President Trump tweeted that little headway was being made
and has threatened to declare a national emergency to get the wall
built.

But Sunday the President tweeted that Vice President Mike Pence had a
productive meeting with those representing leading Democrats.

US National Security Adviser indicates Syria troop withdrawal is on hold

A top adviser to President Trump says the US military withdrawal from Syria is now conditional on defeating the remaining forces of Islamic State AND securing an agreement with Turkey.


Last month President Trump announced US troops would return home from Syria immediately, but his National Security Adviser John Bolton now says that's not the case.

Pompeo and Bolton set for extensive Middle East trip [PREVIEW]

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and National Security Advisor John
Bolton are set to spend the next week touring the Middle East.

They plan to visit a total of eight countries in the region including
Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

The trip follows the death of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi and
President Trump's announcement that he plans to withdraw troops from
Syria and Afghanistan.

Trump threatens to declare "national emergency" to build wall with Mexico

India deports Rohingya refugees to Myanmar

The Indian government has deported six Rohingya refugees to Myanmar- the second such deportation in the last three months.

These refugees were arrested five years ago for illegally entering India.
