Trump changes policy on Syria - says troop withdrawal will be "slow"

US President Donald Trump now says the abrupt withdrawal of US troops from Syria he announced earlier this month will be carried out "slowly".

His change of approach confirmed remarks by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.

UK Home Secretary Chairs Meeting to Deal with Migrant Issue

The British Home Secretary, Said Javid, is chairing talks in London over migrants attempting to reach Britain by the English Channel.


220 people have attempted the journey since November, often in small and unsafe boats.

UK Home Secretary Sajid Javid is chairing talks in London over the growing number of migrants heading across the English channel from France in small boats.

Syrian government move into key northern city

Kurdish militia have withdrawn from the northern Syrian city of Manbij
and invited pro-government forces to enter the area.

It's the first time forces loyal to Syria's President Bashar al-Assad
have controlled this region in six years.

Manhunt continues in Vienna after church attack

POLICE IN ICELAND WAIT TO TALK TO CRASH SURVIVORS

Police in Iceland haven't been able to talk yet to injured passengers in a crash which killed three tourists.

The three British tourists - including a child - died after their vehicle crashed off a bridge.

Four other people in the car were critically injured and have been airlifted to Reykjavik.

The accident happened in Núpsvötn.
