The British Home Secretary, Said Javid, is chairing talks in London over migrants attempting to reach Britain by the English Channel.
220 people have attempted the journey since November, often in small and unsafe boats.

China and US seek to end trade war
US lawmakers set to meet to discuss government shutdown
A partial shutdown of the U.S. government is widely expected to
continue through a sixth day as lawmakers remain divided over the
President's proposed border wall.
Congress convenes on Thursday but there's little hope of an immediate
breakthrough when the Senate and House are slated to meet at 4pm local
time.
