Some of her own cabinet ministers are pressing for changes to the Withdrawal Agreement ahead of an EU summit to sign it off this weekend.

Theresa May could still face a vote of confidence this week if enough of her MPs submit letters calling for her to be removed as leader.

In the Indian state of Kerala, thousands of male devotees have continued to obstruct the entry of women into an 800-year-old temple.

Earlier this year, the country's highest court ruled that a centuries old tradition that keeps women of menstruating age out is a violation of the fundamental rights of women. Devotees claim that preventing the entry of women is essential since the temple's chief deity is celibate.
