Merkel allies suffer steep losses in Bavarian elections

German chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservative allies in Bavaria suffered their worst statewide election results in decades, losing around ten percent of their support since the last poll.

Both the center-left Green party and the far-right Afd party emerged as political challengers.

The results could have bigger implications for national politics, as Ira Spitzer reports from Berlin.

Singapore Airlines' relaunch of world's longest flight arrives in Newark

The world's longest non-stop flight has touched down in Newark Liberty International Airport, resuming a record-breaking flight route.
