UNILEVER TO STAY IN UK

Consumer giant Unilever says it's dropping plans to move its headquarters from London to the Netherlands.

It announced in March it would stop having two bases in London and Rotterdam, and move all its HQ operations to the Dutch city.

But investors said the move could force UK shareholders to dispose of their shares and cause a slump in the firm's value.

Unilever makes products from Marmite to Dove Soap as well as Pot Noodles and Ben and Jerry's ice cream.

Ben Mastel from Seven Investment Management says its position on London's FTSE 100 index of leading shares appears to be keeping it in the UK.
