European Parliament to Vote on Brexit Deal Just Two Weeks Before UK Exit

CHEQUERS BREXIT PLAN 'DEAD'

UK Prime Minister Theresa May's being warned by some of her own MPs that her so-called 'Chequers deal' on Brexit is effectively dead.

Many in the Brexiteer wing of the Conservatives believe the plan agreed by her cabinet for Brexit talks would be worse than staying in the EU on current terms.

And they're also warning Brussels looks set to reject it anyway.

It involves the UK agreeing a 'common rulebook' with EU with regards to the trade in goods - to try and avoid slowing down trade at the border.

Conservative MP John Whittingdale has been to meet with EU negotiator Michel Barnier to discuss the Chequers plan and says a new approach is needed.

Trump's warns Syria, Iran and Russia against attack on rebel enclave

Millions under storm warnings as tropical storm Gordon pounds southern US

Millions of Americans are under storm watches as tropical Storm Gordon pounds South Florida with heavy rain and strong winds.

The UK is calling for the immediate release of two Reuters journalists sentenced to seven years in prison in Myanmar.

Reports: Former White House adviser has more recordings of Trump's team than previously believed

Former UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson says the EU will be able to claim 'victory' under Prime Minister Theresa May's current Brexit strategy.

Lobbyist Pleads Guilty

A political consultant with ties to Donald Trump's former campaign manager Paul Manafort has plead guilty to illegally acting as an agent of a foreign power.
