Man stabs mother and sister in Paris suburb

The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for a knife attack in Paris suburb - but there's as yet no evidence linking the crime to the group.

Two women have died and one is seriously injured in hospital.

Ugandan MP Bobi Wine Rearrested after Military Court Drops Charges

Intro

Uganda's Military Court has withdrawn all charges against legislator and musician Robert Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine but rearrested him and handed him over to a civil court.

Bobi Wine was arrested during a by-election in the North Western town of Arua about a week ago after his supporters allegedly stoned President Yoweri Museveni's motorcade.

He was charged with illegal possession of a fire arm and ammunition.

Indian government refuses foreign aid for Kerala floods

The Indian government has said that the country will not accept financial assistance from foreign nations for flood-wrecked Kerala. It has so far turned down offers of financial aid from UAE, Qatar, Thailand and Maldives.

The floods in Kerala have displaced one million people and experts say that it could take a decade for the state to get back on its feet.

US vows to ratchet up pressure on Iran to abandon nuclear program

The United States wants to increase pressure on Iran to abandon its nuclear program, going beyond previous international sanctions, according to US National security adviser John Bolton.

UK proposes ban on pet shops selling puppies and kittens

In the UK, buying a kitten or puppy from a pet shop could soon be banned.

The measure proposed by the government aims to reduce the number of animals being reared in poor conditions, by forcing owners to buy or adopt a pet that is less than six months old straight from a breeder or rescue centre.

US SUPPORTS MILITARY DRAW-DOWN AT KOREAN BORDER

The top US commander in South Korea says he supports plans to withdraw some outposts along the border with North Korea, despite the risks.
