UN chief condemns ISIL attacks in southwest Syria

The United Nations has strongly condemned Wednesday's terrorist attacks in the Syrian city of Sweida. 


Suicide bombers targeted an outdoor market and other areas, while carrying out deadly raids in nearby towns. 


Some 200 people were reportedly killed.

North Korea expected to handover remains of US troops

North Korea is expected to transfer the remains of some US soldiers killed in the Korean war on Friday.

During their summit in Sinagapore, Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump agreed to work on the repatriation of remains of US troops.

Australia's publisher Fairfax to be swallowed up by Nine Entertainment

Australia's Fairfax Media will be taken over by TV giant Nine Entertainment in a takeover analysts fear will further reduce media diversity in Australia but which has the backing of the federal government.
The merger, which would create a $4 billion media giant, needs consumer watchdog approval but has been made possible by changes to media ownership laws introduced by the current government.

Death toll rises after wildfires ripped through Greece

The death toll is continuing to rise in Greece after wildfires which have ripped through the region around Athens.
