UK PM CHOOSES NEW HOME SECRETARY AFTER RESIGNATION

UK Prime Minister Theresa May is choosing a new Home Secretary after another of her senior cabinet ministers resigned.

Amber Rudd stepped down, admitting she 'inadvertently misled' MPs over whether she knew about her own department's targets for removing illegal immigrants.

It followed mounting pressure over the so-called Windrush scandal, which had seen some migrants from Commonwealth nations wrongly declared as illegal immigrants.

Labour MP Naz Shah says that given the fact that Theresa May was Home Secretary herself when some of the Windrush mistakes were made - she should also be considering her position.
