US Growth Weakens in First Quarter

U.S. growth increased at a rate of 2.3% in the first quarter of this year.

Official GDP data was held back by lower consumer spending, though exports increased.

UK posts weakest growth numbers since 2012

The British economy expanded at its slowest rate in more than five years in the first quarter of the year.

Experts say weak manufacturing was one of the reasons behind the 0.1 percent rate, as Paul Barber reports from London.

US President 'Working Visit' to UK Scheduled for Friday 13th July

US President Donald Trump will visit the UK on Friday 13th July.


However, his long awaiting trip is expected to be a working visit only and not the state visit expected.

KOREAS AGREE DE-NUCLEARISATION PLAN

North and South Korea's leaders have agreed to work towards the complete de-nuclearisation of the Korean peninsula at a summit at the border between the two countries.

Kim Jong Un and Moon Jae-in have also pledged to try and reach a full peace treaty to replace the armistice which marked the end of the Korean War in 1953.

The two have been holding historic talks in the Demilitarised Zone between North and South Korea.

This ahead of a planned summit to involve Kim Jong Un and US President Donald Trumps in the coming weeks.

President Xi, Prime Minister Modi meet at first ever informal summit

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping in the central Chinese city of Wuhan.

The two-day informal summit comes nearly a year after military personnel from both countries faced off for 73 days over a contested border in the Doklam Plateau in the Himalayas.

Russia takes Syrians to OPCW

Russian officials brought more than a dozen Syrian citizens, including children, to the Organisation for the Prohibition for Chemical Weapons. The move was to support their claims there was no chemical attack in the region this month. It was dismissed by the UK as a theatrical "stunt".

KIM CROSSES INTO SOUTH KOREA FOR TALKS

Kim Jong Un has become the first North Korean leader to cross the border into the South since 1953.

Korean leaders meet on border for historic summit


North Korea's Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un has crossed into the neighboring south for an historic summit with his South Korean counterpart, Moon Jae-in.

The two men greeted each other with a handshake on the border line between the two nations before both crossing into the South - a first for the North Korean leader.

The two are expected to discuss ending North Korea's nuclear program.

As the pair spoke, The White House has issued a statement saying it's hopeful the talks will be a step towards peace and prosperity for the entire Korean Peninsula.  

The summit is being viewed as a foundation for a possible meeting between Kim Jong-un and President Trump in the coming weeks

Otto Warmbier's Parents File Lawsuit Against North Korea

The parents of the American college student who died after suffering a severe brain injury during 17 months in custody in Pyongyang, have sued North Korea. 

Otto Warmbier's parents say North Korea kidnapped, tortured, and murdered their son. 

The lawsuit throws a harsh light on North Korea's human rights abuses just weeks before President Trump is scheduled to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

Bill Cosby found guilty of sexual assault

American comedian Bill Cosby has been convicted on three counts of sexual assault.

He's been found guilty of drugging and assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004.

Cosby could face 30 years in prison for the act.

Ms Constand is just one of dozens of women who have accused Cosby of drugging and raping them.

Cosby denies the allegations, saying his sexual encounters were consensual.

US President Donald Trump will visit the UK on 13th July, the White House has confirmed.

It's described as a 'working visit' - not the full state visit UK Prime Minister Theresa May invited President Trump on last year.
