Salisbury residents reassures over nerve agent concerns

The British government says Salisbury is safe after reports that traces of the nerve agent used to poison a former Russian spy last month were found in the city.

The UK says Russian-produced Novichock was used in the attack, a charge Moscow denies.

WW2 Bomb Causes Evacuation in Berlin

Authorities in Berlin are removing a large unexploded world war two bomb from the city center, causing major disruptions in the German capital.

The five hundred kilo bomb was found on a construction site near the city's main train station.

Indian Opposition parties moves to impeach top judge

For the first time in the history of the country, members of the Opposition have moved an impeachment motion against the senior most just of the Indian Supreme Court.

60 Indian lawmakers have signed the petition which claims that the Chief Justice is 'abusing his position'.

The Supreme Court has called the motion 'unfortunate' and has urged the Indian government to ban the media from reporting the impeachment process.

Comey memos released to Congress

President Trump told former FBI Director James Comey he had serious questions about the judgement of his national security adviser, Mike Flynn, according to memos written by Comey.

Mr Comey kept records of his conversations with President Trump in the weeks before his firing in May 2017. The 35 pages of documents were released to the US Congress for review.

Miguel Diaz-Canel replaces Raul Castro as Cuba's President



Cuba has a new leader.

Miguel Diaz-Canel was officially named president on Thursday after being voted in by the Island's National Assembly.  

His appontment is the first time for almost 60 years that a Castro isn't leading the country.  

Diaz Canel says he's commited to uphoold the traditions and values of Cuba's communist rule.

Facebook tweaks terms to work around new EU data protection rules

Facebook has tweaked its terms of use in order to work around the new data protection laws in the European Union.

Until now, the 1.5 billion Facebook users who live in Africa, Asia, Australia, and Latin America have been held to terms of service at Facebook's int'l headquarters in Dublin.

But responsibility for those users will soon shift to company headquarters in California, just before Europe's new regulations take effect on May 25th.

North Korea drops US troop proposal

North Korea says it will no longer push the US to remove American
troops from South Korea at the upcoming summit between the two

JET ENGINES TO BE INSPECTED AFTER EXPLOSION

It's emerged a similar engine fault was reported two years ago - to the issue which caused an explosion killing a passenger on a Southwest Airlines flight on Tuesday.

Heads of Commonwealth meeting begins, Queen makes bid for leadership to pass to son


Britain's Queen Elizabeth the Second has hosted leaders from the 53 Commonwealth nations, saying she welcomed them into her own home…Buckingham Palace for the official start of a two day meeting.   


She said the grouping is growing stronger year by year and weighed in on the matter of who should succeed her as head of the Commonwealth.

Russia rejected UN resolution for independent Douma investigation

Russia vetoed a resolution at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting calling launch an independent investigation over the alleged chemical attack in Syria's Douma in early April. Moscow continues to insist videos of the reported chemical attack were staged. Local state media showed footage shot in Douma reportedly proving Moscow's claims. Telegram app retains users after ban in Russia

Mike Pompeo's Secretary of State nomination uncertain

Donald Trump's nominee for Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, has met significant opposition in the Senate after it was revealed Pompeo met secretly with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
