French President Macron tries to win back voters after weeks of strikes

French President Emmanuel Macron is trying to win back French voters to his reform programme - after weeks of transport strikes have brought the country to a standstill.

He'll give only the third TV interview of his presidency on Thursday lunchtime, aiming to silence his critics.

California National Guard Will NOT Help to Build Border Wall


California's Governor Jerry Brown has agreed to commit troops to President Trump's National Guard deployment to the US Mexico border. 

But Governor Brown says California troops will NOT participate in immigration enforcement or  the building of any wall.

More than 250 people have died in a military plane crash in Algeria.

It's the country's worst ever air accident and the government has called three days of national mourning.
