House Speaker Paul Ryan won’t seek reelection

U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan has announced he will not seek reelection in November.

The announcement by the 48 year-old head of the Republican majority has taken Washington by surprise.

Hundreds dead in Algeria plane crash

More than 250 people have died in a military plane crash in Algeria.

It's the country's worst ever air accident and the government has called three days of national mourning.

The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed his "great sadness".

Trump launches new attack on Mueller

President Trump has publicly attacked Special Counsel Robert Mueller, calling him "conflicted" and leading a "fake & corrupt Russia investigation".

Facebook to go on a hiring spree ahead of 2019 elections in India

They included two rival proposals to create a new team to investigate chemical weapon claims in Syria.

Facebook CEO testifies before US Senate

Hollywood director will not be charged for sex crimes
