China Announces Plan to Open its Economy

China's President Xi Jinping has announced plans to further open up
the country's economy and lower some import tariffs.

Trade tension between the United States and China has mounted in
recent days but President Xi warned against protectionist measurers
adding that cooperation was needed for win-win results.

Trump vows "forceful" response to Syrian chemical attack

President Trump says reprisals against Syria for its latest alleged use of chemical weapons will be "forceful" and are now being planned in Washington.


A spoke at a meeting of his top military staff where he called the chemical attack on the eastern city of Douma an "atrocity".

Trump furious over FBI raid on lawyer's office, hotel suite

US President Donald Trump has accused the FBI of a break-in after agents raided his lawyer's office and hotel suite in New York.


The move was requested by Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller who is investigating ties between the President's election campaign and the Russians.

China says American 'anxiety disorder' is fueling tariffs

China has stepped up its attacks on the Trump administration over billions of dollars in threatened tariffs.

State media and government officials in Beijing said Washington was to blame for the trade frictions and it was impossible to negotiate under "current circumstances".

Facebook to start notifying users whose data was leaked

Facebook says that on Monday it will start sending messages to notify the 87 million users whose data was shared with the data-mining firm Cambridge Analytica.

This comes as CEO Mark Zuckerberg is meeting with U.S. lawmakers on Capitol Hill, one day before his scheduled appearance before Congress.

Trump to make decision on Syria reprisals imminently

UN Debates Syria Chemical Weapons Action

The United Nations is considering a resolution to allow humanitarian access and an investigation  at the site of an alleged chemical weapons attack in Syria.

Diplomats are negotiating revisions to a proposal which is facing resistance from Russia.

Moscow maintains that there was no chemical weapons attack at the site in a Damascus suburb on Saturday.
