May talks up Brexit benefits on UK tour
British Prime Minister Theresa May says there are "real opportunities" for the UK outside the European Union. She made the remarks as she toured the country to mark the one-year count-down to Brexit, when the UK is due to leave the European Union.
Starting her tour in Scotland, the Prime Minister told workers in a textile factory that Brexit could bring future benefits. The British leader is also making stops in England, Northern Ireland and Wales. Speaking with reporters, Mrs May said Brexit would also mean more money for schools and the National Health service.
Former Prime Minister Tony Blair has used the day to say that it is not too late to stop Brexit and that a final decision should be taken once the terms of the exit deal with the EU are known.
Speaking in Scotland the British leader said she was confident that Brexit would bring about benefits.
