PUTIN CELEBRATES VICTORY IN RUSSIAN ELECTIONS

Vladimir Putin has won another six years in office after winning a landslide in the Russian presidential election. He addressed crowds in Moscow to call for unity, after a campaign in which opposition leaders accused him of running a corrupt regime. Lucy Taylor reports.

Trump trade policies set to dominate G20 meeting

Finance ministers from the G-20 are gathering in Buenos Aires amid a looming trade battle over US tariffs.

President Trump's decision to levy duties on aluminium and steel imports is likely to dominate the discussions.

The tariffs of 25 percent on steel and 10 percent on aluminium are set to come into force at the end of this week.

Lawmakers warn Trump against firing Mueller

Republican lawmakers are warning President Trump not to interfere with the probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 US presidential election.

It follows a series of tweets from Donald Trump attacking the investigation led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

The White House is already under fire over the dismissal of deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe just days before he was due to retire.

Russians have been voting in elections which are widely expected to give Vladimir Putin another term as President. In Russia, initial reports suggest a high turnout in presidential elections which are widely expected to give Vladimir Putin another six years in power. UN launches US$950M aid appeal for Rohingya refugee assistance

The United Nations is seeking more than $950 million dollars this year to urgently help Rohingya refugees who have fled Myanmar, and the communities hosting them.


The 2018 response plan for the Rohingya Humanitarian Crisis was launched in Geneva Friday, and includes provisions for food, water and healthcare.

The United Nations special envoy for Syria says the people in the
besieged area of Eastern Ghouta are at the "tip of a collapse".

Putin urges Russians to vote amid fears of voter boycott

Two Indian airlines cancel over 600 flights at short notice

Two Indian budget carriers, Indigo and GoAir, have announced that they will be cancelling over 600 flight in March after the country's aviation watchdog ordered the grounding of 11 Airbus aircraft because of recurring engine failures.

This move is expected to hit thousands of air travellers and has also lead to airfares soaring.

MOSCOW 'WILL EXPEL UK DIPLOMATS'

Russia says it will expel a number of British diplomats as ties worsen after a nerve agent attack on a former spy in the UK.

British investigators say 131 people were potentially exposed to the chemical used in Salisbury on March 4th.

Toys R Us seeks to halt payments ahead of liquidation

Toys R Us, has asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for permission to stop
paying its suppliers while it lines up buyers for its international
business.

The plans to liquidate North American stores has put 30,000 jobs at risk.

It's not only U.S. stores that are likely to be affected. Ones in
France, Spain, Poland and Australia will likely be liquidated, while
it looks to sell shops in Canada, Central Europe and Asia.

UK Allies: Spy attack an “assault on UK's sovereignty”
