India makes passive euthanasia legal

India's Supreme Court has ruled to recognise passive euthanasia in exceptional circumstances.

The court has said that the Indian constitution allows every citizen of the country the right to life and this is inclusive of the right to die with dignity.

Passive euthanasia is the withdrawal of medical treatment, with the deliberate intention to hasten the death of a terminally-ill patient.

The Indian Navy is hosting 16 nations for an eight day naval exercise.

The war games are held every other year and have been in place since 1995. This time around India has admitted that China's activities in the Indo-Pacific region were discussed when the navy chiefs of participating nations met.

As per the Indian Navy's estimates, China has about 8 ships deployed at any given time in the Indian Ocean region.

India's Navy Chief Sunil Lanba also used this opportunity to reassure participating nations that New Delhi doesn't perceive any kind of maritime threat from China.

21 TREATED AFTER UK NERVE AGENT ATTACK

21 people have now been treated by medical staff in the UK after a former Russian spy and his daughter were attacked with a nerve agent.

Sergei and Yulia Skripal remain in a critical condition in hospital, and a police officer who was first on the scene is still in a serious condition.

Mr Skripal's home in Wiltshire is a major crime scene.

The UK has promised a 'robust' response once it is determined who was responsible for what police say was a targeted attack.

Baroness Neville-Jones, former chairman of the UK's Joint Intelligence Committee, says if Russian involvement is proven, Britain needs to hit back.
