Trump Hires 2020 Campaign Director

One year into his presidency, Donald Trump has hired a campaign director for his re-election bid. 

Brad Parscale was the digital director of Trump's 2016 campaign.

Syrian aid deliveries prevented by shelling

The United Nations says continued shelling in the Syrian suburb of
Eastern Ghouta is preventing aid convoys from reaching besieged
civilians.

The government's ally Russia had announced a five-hour pause in the
fighting to allow aid in.

UK hit by "Beast from the East"


Many parts of Europe including the UK are experiencing severe winter weather with the so-called "Beast from the East", a Siberian weather front, bringing large amounts and snow and freezing temperatures. 


Temperatures in the UK are expected to drop to as low as minus 15 degrees celsius this week.   Travel disruption is already affecting many parts of the country as  Catherine Drew reports from London.

LIAM FOX: CUSTOMS UNION WOULD 'BETRAY' BREXIT VOTE

The UK government says a customs union with the EU after Brexit would harm the national interest and tie its hands on international trade deals.

International Trade Secretary Liam Fox has been setting out the case against a customs union - a day after opposition Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said he'd plan to negotiate one with the EU.

Critics of the government say the lack of a customs union would mean the prospect of a hard border between Ireland and Northern Ireland.

But Liam Fox insists a customs union would make it impossible to negotiate international trade deals.

The UK is facing major disruption from heavy snowfall and freezing conditions.

Hundreds of trains have been cancelled, some schools are closed, and motorists are being warned to take extra care with some roads blocked.

Indian lawmaker accused of mowing down 9 children

In the Indian state of Bihar, nine children were killed and over 20 injured when a speeding vehicle rammed into a school compound.
