UK: BREXIT NOT A 'RACE TO THE BOTTOM'

Britain post-Brexit will not be a 'Mad-Max-style world borrowed from dystopian fiction'.

That's according to the UK's Brexit Secretary David Davis who's attempting to reassure European nations that Britain will remain committed to high workers' rights and environmental standards.

He's in Vienna arguing for continuing close co-operation between Britain and the EU on standards and regulations after Brexit so there can be 'frictionless trade'.

Mr Davis says the UK's exit from the bloc is not about a 'race to the bottom' for regulation.
