Report: German Social Democrats to Take Over Finance Ministry


According to German media, the center-left Social Democrats will take over Germany's finance ministry from chancellor Angela Merkel's conservatives.

The news comes as part of a new coalition agreement, which is still subject to the approval of the Social Democrat party members.

UK politicians criticize EU "punishment plan"


British politicians on both sides of the Brexit debate have united in criticizing the European Union after the block reportedly proposed a 'punishment plan' for the UK in the event of disputes.

EU outlines potential market restrictions on UK post Brexit

Fake Indian doctor infects 38 people with HIV

Police in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh are on the lookout for an unlicensed doctor who allegedly infected 38 people with HIV.

Officials say that he reused an infected needle on hundreds of patients in exchange for treatment that cost less than half a dollar.

Brexit "war Cabinet" meets to hammer out the governments negotiating position

SpaceX launches world's most powerful rocket

Space X has successfully launched the world's most powerful rocket.

The Falcon Heavy's 27 engines propelled a cherry red Tesla sports car into space, reaching speeds more than eleven-thousand kilometers-per-hour.

It was a test launch for the rocket which it's hoped will eventually be able to carry much heavier payloads into orbit than is currently possible, and eventually send astronauts to the Moon and Mars.

SpaceX is getting ready for a historic, but risky launch later [18:30GMT].

The Falcon Heavy rocket is expected deliver a red Tesla sports car into an orbit around the sun.

With three boosters and 27 engines, it'll be the most powerful operational rocket in the world.

SpaceX hopes the Falcon Heavy will be able to launch heavier payloads into orbit, and eventually send astronauts to the Moon.

UK judge rules Julian Assange arrest warrant still stands

A British court has ruled against WikiLeaks founder Jullian Assange who had argued a UK arrest warrant for him should be withdrawn because Swedish prosecutors have dropped their investigation over sexual assault and rape claims against him.

South African President Jacob Zuma "close to resigning"

Speculation is mounting that South African President Jacob Zuma is close to tendering his resignation, after he postponed plans to address Parliament in Cape Town on Thursday.


President Zuma was due to make the annual State of the Nation address….it's the first time it's been postponed since the advent of democracy in South Africa.
