FBI queries funding role of Russian banker

The FBI counterintelligence investigators want to know if Alexander Torshin, a Russian banker and friend of President Vladimir Putin, funnelled money to the NRA.

The National Rifle Association more than doubled its campaign spending in support of Donald Trump during the 2016 U.S. election cycle (compared with 2012).

MAY AND MACRON PROMISE STRONGER RELATIONS DESPITE BREXIT

Britain and France have agreed to deepen co-operation in a series of areas as the UK leaves the EU.

French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Theresa May have been holding talks at the Sandhurst military academy in southern England.

Britain will spend an extra $60m on boosting security at Channel ports such as Calais.

And Emmanuel Macron says that while he regrets Brexit, it should not impact on relations between the two countries.

Uncertainty over US Jerusalem embassy timeline

Republicans blame Senate Democrats for shutdown threat

Republican lawmakers are trying to lay the blame for the looming shutdown of the U.S government on Senate Democrats.

The spending plan for the U.S. government ends at midnight Washington time on January 19.

U.S. President Donald Trump thinks a shutdown very well may happen, while legislation to keep the government running through February 16 is making its way through the U.S. Congress.

Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Paul Ryan is placing the blame for the political impasse on the Senate Democrats.

Tillerson outlines US strategy on Syria

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says US troops will remain in Syria after their fight against Isis.

Victims of USA Gymnastics doctor give shocking accounts of abuse in Michigan court


The victims of Larry Nassar, the former USA Gymnastics team doctor who has plead guilty to molesting dozens of girls, have been giving shocking accounts of abuse during a sentencing hearing in the US state of Michigan.
