Key powers in Syrian war denounce US plans for allied Kurdish-led border force

Syria, Turkey and Russia have strongly criticised US plans to help an allied Kurdish-led militia set up a 30,000-strong "border security force".

The strongest denunciation came from Turkish president Erdogan, who has described it as a terror army and vowed to "strangle" it.

Ford announces $11bn for electric vehicles

US car maker Ford has announced its increasing investment in electric vehicles by $11 billion dollars over the next 5 years.

Belgian police discover 12 weapons of war during anti-terror raids

Twelve weapons of war have been found in an apartment in Brussels during searches connected to anti-terrorism operations.

Ethiopia to release 528 political prisoners



Ethiopia says it will release 528 political prisoners on Wednesday. The announcement, made by the country's attorney general, comes after the government said earlier this month that it would release opposition politicians and other individuals, and close a notorious detention centre.

Indonesian Stock Exchange floor collapse - at least 72 injured

At least 72 people have been injured after a mezzanine floor at the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the capital Jakarta collapsed early Monday afternoon.
Police cordoned off the two-tower, multi-storey building following the incident, and Images on social media showed a mangled metal structure had collapsed around a Starbucks cafe near the entrance to the lobby.
