New York City vows to take on oil companies

New York City is planning to take on major oil companies in a bid to
curb the impact of climate change.

Mayor Bill de Blasio says he intends to divest $5 billion from
businesses connected to the fossil fuel industry and plans to file a
lawsuit too.

Poland says Kaczyński’s plane crash-landed in Russia because of explosion

Poland says the plane carrying former Polish President Lech Kaczyński and top members of the Polish government, crashed because of an internal explosion. Ninety six people died in that crash near the Russian city of Smolensk in April 2010. Moscow is carrying out its own probe into the incident and had earlier dismissed Warsaw's claims as nonsense. MANHUNT AFTER RITZ HEIST IN PARIS

A manhunt continues in Paris after an armed robbery on a jewellery shop at the Ritz Hotel in the French capital.

UK LAUNCHES 25 YR ENVIRONMENTAL PLAN

Several celebrity homes have been damaged after massive mudslides
swept through California.

More than a hundred homes have been damaged. Several people have died

Trump administration reverses course on Florida drilling

The Trump administration is reversing course on oil and gas drilling off the coast of Florida.

Trump: interview with Special Prosecutor "unlikely"

President Trump has downplayed suggestions that he might agree to an interview with special prosecutor Robert Mueller, who is investigating ties between the Russians and the President's election campaign team.

Death tolls rises in California mudslides

Several people have died after massive storms hit California - so far
15 have died and there are two dozen reported missing.

Fears are that they may have been swept away in mudslides.

Pres. Trump wants stronger libel laws

U.S. President Donald Trump wants meaningful recourse for folks who feel they've been defamed or libeled.

He's also promised to announce his "fake news awards" part of his fury at less than glowing coverage in the press.

The first amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right to freedom of speech and the press, and libel is considered extremely difficult to prosecute in American courts.
