Celebrity homes damaged in deadly mudslides

Several celebrity homes have been damaged after massive mudslides
swept through California.

More than a hundred homes have been damaged. Several people have died
after the storms with rescue efforts still continuing.

Could go back into Paris Climate deal - Pres. Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump cracked open the door to the idea that America could rejoin the Paris Climate accord.

The American president insists he wants clean water and air, but the competitiveness of American business is a top priority for him.

Convenience stores targeted by immigration raids

About 100 7-11 convenience stores were targeted in raids by federal immigration agents.

Trump administration reverses course on Florida drilling

The Trump administration is reversing course on oil and gas drilling off the coast of Florida.

Just last week, the US Interior Secretary announced plans to open nearly all US waters to drilling, triggering a backlash in impacted states, even among supporters from President Trump.

Trump: interview with Special Prosecutor "unlikely"

President Trump has downplayed suggestions that he might agree to an interview with special prosecutor Robert Mueller, who is investigating ties between the Russians and the President's election campaign team.


Last year, the President said he would be 100% willing to testify under oath in the inquiry.

Death tolls rises in California mudslides

Several people have died after massive storms hit California - so far
15 have died and there are two dozen reported missing.

Fears are that they may have been swept away in mudslides.

Hundreds have been rescued from their homes and many taken to hospital.

Pres. Trump wants stronger libel laws

U.S. President Donald Trump wants meaningful recourse for folks who feel they've been defamed or libeled.

He's also promised to announce his "fake news awards" part of his fury at less than glowing coverage in the press.

The first amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right to freedom of speech and the press, and libel is considered extremely difficult to prosecute in American courts.

UN blames Syrian forces for 85 civilian deaths

The United Nations says at least 85 civilians have been killed in a
besieged part of the Syrian capital Damascus in the last ten days.

Trump's lawyer files lawsuit over dossier

Donald Trump's personal lawyer has filed a defamation lawsuit against the website Buzzfeed for publishing a dossier alleging the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.

The dossier was published one year ago and contains several unverified allegations about Donald Trump's interactions with Russians.

US judge blocks Trump administration's attempt to end DACA legislation


A US judge is blocking the Trump administration's attempt to withdraw legislation that protects hundreds of thousands of children of illegal immigrants from deportation.

In September last year, US President Donald Trump announced that he is ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or DACA legislation.

Minister claims Indian astronomer and not Newton discovered gravity

A minister belonging to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's party has claimed that an Indian discovered the law of gravity 1,000 years before Isaac Newton did. 

Previously the same minister had claimed that cows, an animal that Hindus consider holy, is the only animal in the world to both inhale and exhale oxygen.

MUD-SLIDES KILL AT LEAST 13 IN CALIFORNIA

At least 13 people have died after mud-slides in Southern California which police say left areas looking like a 'World War One battlefield'.

Over 150 people have been taken to hospital after heavy rains caused flooding and mudslides.

And in Romero Canyon to the east of Santa Barbara around 300 people are thought to be trapped.

Officials fear the death toll will rise with a number of people unaccounted for.

Many of the affected areas were scorched by wildfires last month.

Tillerson promises Cuba "sonic attack" inquiry

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says a new inquiry will look into a series of sonic attacks on embassy staff in Cuba.

America's top diplomat says US personal will not return to Havana until more is known about the mysterious incidents.

Several staff have complained of nausea, ringing in the ears, and vertigo after hearing a strange sounds while on assignment in Cuba.

US military apologies over Japanese accidents

The Japanese government says the United States has apologized after
two American military helicopters made emergency landings on the
