Mexico Cruise tragedy - 11 dead

At least 11 tourists from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship have died in a coach crash in Mexico.
The bus flipped over at Costa Maya, a stretch of Caribbean coast on Mexico's eastern Yucatan Peninsula, in the south of the country.
Australia's AIR News newsreader Andrew Collins is one of the passengers, and reports from the Costa Maya terminal.

MEXICO TOUR BUS CRASH

At least 11 people have died and 20 more have been injured after a bus
full of tourists crashed in Mexico.

It overturned on a freeway on its way to the archaeological site of Chaccoben.

Many of the passengers are thought to have been in the country as part
of a cruise trip.

Problems in the way the tax reform legislation is written has delayed the final votes.

Pres. Trump trip to UK in the works

The White House says the invitation from the United Kingdom for a visit has been accepted.

The visit has been under question as some in Parliament think Donald Trump should be arrested for incitement, while the arrangements have also been under debate.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed that the visit was discussed during a phone call with British Prime Minister Theresa May.

Republicans begin to celebrate tax reform

The lower chamber of the U.S. Congress, the U.S. House of Representatives has coted 227 to 203 to approve massive tax reform and tax cuts.

Next the U.S. Senate must also vote on the legislation to send it to U.S. President Donald Trump's desk for signing.

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan says the Republicans are keeping their promises.

Speed an Issue in Fatal Train Crash

Speed is at issue in the investigation into the cause of the fatal crash of a passenger train in the state of Washington.


Three people died in the crash and officials say the death toll may rise.

Saudi claims intercept of Iran-Houthi ballistic missile aimed at Riyadh

The Saudi Arabia-led coalition fighting Yemen's Houthi rebels on Tuesday said it intercepted a ballistic missile aimed at the Saudi capital of Riyadh.


The latest missile launch has raised further tensions amid Saudi claims that Iran is supplying Houthi rebels with ballistic missiles, and comes ahead of a key UN meeting on the Iran nuclear deal.

Americans skeptical as US Congress votes on taxes

The majority of Americans are deeply skeptical that their taxes will be lowered even as the U.S. Congress is set to pass the legislation.

Four arrested in UK terror raids

US may compel North Korea to de-nuclearization

U.S. National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster says all options remain on the table when it comes to North Korea, including compelling the regime to give up its nuclear weapons ambitions.

Earlier, the Trump administration accused North Korea of being behind the "WannaCry" cyber-attack.

In an interview with the BBC News, H.R. McMaster said the preferred option remains a diplomatic solution.

DERAILED TRAIN 'WAS TRAVELLING AT 80MPH'

A train which derailed in Washington State killing three people was travelling at 80 miles an hour round a bend with a 30 mile an hour speed limit, according to data from its rear engine.

72 people were hospitalised after the train came off its tracks with some carriages falling onto the motorway below.

Many of those injured are thought to be in a serioud condition after the incident near to DuPont.

It was a new route for the train, as US correspondent Simon Marks reports.

India to issue tax notices to 500,000 people for trading in bitcoins

500,000 individuals in India have landed in trouble with the Income Tax department for using bitcoins to trade on exchanges.

This comes at a time when the global value of bitcoins has surged massively. The Indian government doesn't recognise cryptocurrencies as legal.

Both chambers are set to vote on the legislation which U.S. President Donald Trump promises will be the biggest tax reform and cut ever.

The legislation remains controversial and it's unclear if all Republican senators support the bill.

US gov't to investigate train derailment

Six deaths have been reported and 77 injured after an Amtrak passenger train en route from Seattle Washington to Portland Oregon derailed outside Olympia, the capital city of Washington State.

The National Transportation Safety Board is sending a team to investigate the accident.
