US Urges Pakistan to Redouble Efforts against Insurgency

The US Defense Secretary is urging Pakistan to redouble its efforts against insurgents operating in that country. 

James Mattis met with top Pakistani leaders on his first visit to Pakistan as US Defense Secretary.

Pyongyang issues nuclear warning over latest US-ROK drills


North Korea has lashed out at the latest joint military exercise between the US and South Korea that kicked off Monday.


Pyongyang called the move a grave provocation that could escalate the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the brink of nuclear war.

Ireland's Taoiseach expresses disappointment over Brexit no deal for phase 1


Ireland's Taoiseach (Tee-Shuck) or Prime Minister has announced his disappointment the UK and EU failed to agree on their first phase of negotiations on Monday.


Talks over the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland after Brexit appear to remain a sticking point, despite the UK being keen to move onto the next phase of discussions - involving trae.


Ireland's Taoiseach  Leo Varadkar, whose government negotiates as part of the European Union said a deal was on the table and expressed his surprised at the no deal outcome of this first phase, but did express hopes that an agreement could be reached before the week is out.

TV host confirms Trump’s obscene comments

Former television host Billy Bush has confirmed that President Trump voiced the obscene comments heard in a 2005 recording that was leaked to the media during last year's campaign.

Trump recently suggested that the tape could be a fake.

Speculation mounts that Washington will recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital


Speculation is mounting that the United States will recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital this week.

The Arab League and several countries including Turkey and Jordan have warned Washington about the potential repercussions of the move.

US President Donald Trump has explicitly endorsed embattled US Senate candidate Roy Moore on Twitter, saying "we need Republican Roy Moore to win in Alabama."

Mr Moore, who is running in a tight special election for one of Alabama's seats in the Senate, has been accused of child sex abuse but denies the allegations.

No decision yet on US embassy in Israel - Kushner

Jared Kushner, son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump, says no decision has been made on whether to move the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
