Trump Pushes for New Sanctions on North Korea

President Donald Trump says additional sanctions will be imposed on North Korea, following its latest missile test.

He sent a message via twitter after a phone call urging China's President Xi Jinping to step up the pressure.

Pres. Trump retweets multiple far-right videos

The President of the United States has come in for widespread criticism after retweeting three reportedly inflammatory anti-Muslim videos.  

Donald Trump shared the videos, which came from a far-right group's twitter account, with his Forty-three million followers early Wednesday morning.

Today show host Matt Lauer sacked for inappropriate behavior

Matt Lauer, the host of the popular Today show produced by NBC News, has been sacked following a detailed complaint of inappropriate workplace behavior.

They were originally tweeted by Jayda Fransen, deputy leader of Britain First.

The group is a fringe organisation which some UK MPs say should be proscribed as a terrorist group.

UK could pay 50bn Euros for Brexit 'Divorce Bill'

Reports suggest that the UK will offer the European Union around 50 billion euros (60 billion dollars) as a settlement before it leaves the bloc.


The so-called 'divorce bill' has been a main issue of disagreement  in the first stage of Brexit negotiations. But Brussels is reportedly welcoming the sum.

Libyan militia leader acquitted of murder in Benghazi attack

A former Libyan militia leader has been found guilty of terrorism over the 2012 attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, but he's been acquitted of murder.

Ahmed Abu Khattala was seized by US commandos in Libya and taken to the US for trial.

North Korea launches ballistic missile

President Trump says the US will "take care of it" following North Korea's latest missile launch.

The Pentagon says it believes an intercontinental ballistic missile travelled for 1,000km (620 miles) before falling into the Sea of Japan early on Wednesday morning local time.

Pentagon report shows US troop numbers in Iraq and Syria much higher than previous figures


According to a report released by the Department of Defense in Washington, the number of US troops in Syria and Iraq is significantly higher than figures previously acknowledged by the Pentagon.

The news comes after the Pentagon also revised up its official figures for Afghanistan earlier this year.

North Korea has test fired a ballistic missile, the first such test in two months.

The regime of Kim Jong Un and the Trump administration have exchanged a series of insults, whilst additional sanctions have been imposed following a series of votes at the United Nations.
