Ugandan Journalists Detained Over Offensive Publication

Ugandan police have arrested five editors and three reporters for publishing an article deemed destabilizing to relations between Uganda and Rwanda.

The eight journalists work for a local daily publication called The Red Pepper and now they could face treason charges.

US military may remain in Syria - reports

The Trump administration is considering leaving U.S. soldiers in Syria as a way to force a political settlement, the Washington Post reports.

Husband of British-Iranian woman jailed in Iran says she faces further charges

The husband of a British-Iranian woman jailed in Iran has said she will appear in court in December to faces charges of "spreading propaganda". 

Richard Ratcliffe says his wife Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, who had lived in London before being arrested whilst on holiday in Iran, has been informed she will appear in court on December the 10th.   

The new court date comes after British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson recently made an error whilst speaking about the case publicly.    From London, Catherine Drew reports.

Olympic Gymnastics Doctor faces life behind bars

The former USA Gymnastics Olympic team doctor, has pleaded guilty to
criminal sexual conduct, including offenses against young girls.

It comes after more than a hundred alleged victims reported assaults
against Larry Nassar - including several members of the USA's winning
teams from the last two Olympic games.

It's likely he'll be jailed for the rest of his life.

Reports finds that Android smartphones send user location details to Google

UK GROWTH FORECASTS DOWNGRADED AMID BREXIT TALKS

The UK's economic growth forecasts have been downgraded as it negotiates its exit from the European Union.

Official estimates now expect GDP of 1.5% this year - down from a previous prediction of 2%, dropping to 1.3% by 2020.

However, UK finance minister Philip Hammond has unveiled extra spending on the country's health service, and promised to oversee the building of hundreds of thousands of new homes.

Ethnic cleansing in Rakine State - Sec. Tillerson

The U.S. State Department says ethic cleansing is being undertaken against the Rohingya, according to a statement from U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Mladic handed life sentence in The Hague

Former Bosnian Serb general Rakto Mladic has been given a life sentence for a string of crimes committed in the Bosnian war in the nineteen nineties. 

Once known as the Butcher of Bosnia, judges in The Hague say he bears a large part of the responsibility for the deaths of over 8000 muslims men and boys during the Srebrenica massacre.
