Manafort, Gates enter not guilty pleas

Paul Manafort and Rick Gates are now under house arrest, required to post $10 million and $5 million respectively following an indictment of 12 counts of conspiracy and money laundering. 

Separately, the one-time foreign policy adviser to the Trump Campaign George Papadopolous has plead guilty to lying about his dealings with the Russians.

UN delivers aid after year to Damascus suburb

The United Nations says for the first time in over a year aid convoys
have finally reached Eastern Ghouta outside the capital Damascus.

The UN delivered aid to more than 40,000 people in the rebel-held area.

Paul Manafort and Rick Gates have entered not guilty pleas
after a 12 count indictment of conspiracy and money laundering was unsealed.

Paul Manafort was Donald Trump's campaign manager, and Rick Gates his top associate.

The indictment alledges the two men washed some $75 million through off shore accounts, 
helping to fund luxury lifestyles

The White HOuse insist the charges have nothing to do with President Trump.

The White House continues to insist the focus should be on Democrats and Hillary Clinton for their funding of the Steele Dossier, funding which was originated by a Republican donor.

George Papadopolous has plead guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russians and his attempts to set up meetings between the Kremlin and the Trump campaign.

Photos of Mr. Papadoplous meeting with Donald Trump and now U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions from the campaign have surfaced.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders says a meeting is nothing compared to what the Democrats did.

Kevin Spacey Apologizes After Teen Harrassment allegations

Senators call for review of war powers after Niger deaths

Key senators say a new Authorization of the use of military force to fight terrorism is needed now following the deaths of four U.S. soldiers in Niger.

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and U.S. Defence Secretary James Mattis are set to testify to the U.S. Senate's Foreign Relations Committee.

One member of that panel, U.S. Senator Chris Coons (a Democrat from Delaware), who has focused on Africa, told CNN, the need to review and reconsider the AUMF is urgent.

Trump campaign adviser pleads guilty to lying over Russian contacts

US President Donald Trump insists there is still no evidence of collusion between his campaign and the Russians, even though three of his election advisers have now been charged by Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller.

It's been revealed that one of them has already pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Moscow, and he's now co-operating with authorities.

CO2 levels surged to record highs last year

The World Meteorological Organization has announced that CO2 levels in
the Earth's atmosphere last years hit highs not seen in 800,000 years.

Storm kills six in Central Europe

At least six people have died as a result of  heavy wind and rain in Central Europe over the weekend.
