NFL wants to honor flag, address issues behind protests


America's professional football league wants players to stand for the National anthem, but Commissioner Roger Goodell is indicating, he doesn't intend to force the issue.

U.S. President Donald Trump has denounced Commissioner Goodell, posting on social media, "The NFL has decided that it will not force players to stand for the playing of our National Anthem. Total disrespect for our great country!"

The U.S. Supreme Court first ruled in the 1940s that displays of patriotism cannot be enforced, a postion the nation's highest court has upheld repeatedly.

Pres. Trump disputes accounts of condolences calls

U.S. President Donald Trump is now saying on the record that U.S. Representative Frederica Wilson has misrepresented what he said during a phone call with  Myeshia Johnson (PRONO: my EE-shah), the widow of Green Beret La David Johnson, killed on October 4 while on patrol in Niger.

Congresswoman Wilson has repeated her account multiple times in multiple television interviews, while  Cowanda Jones-Johnson, the mother of Sergeant Johnson told the Washington Post, "President Trump did disrespect my son and my daughter and also me and my husband."

Following a photo call with reporters which was supposed to be about tax reform, journalists asked U.S. President Donald Trump what he said exactly and what proof he has.

UK'S BREXIT LEGISLATION 'DELAYED'

A key piece of Brexit legislation's reportedly been delayed in the UK - throwing the government's timetable into doubt.

It's understood that the EU Withdrawal Bill is unlikely to be discussed again in the House of Commons until November, because of a lack of political agreement.

The bill is designed to turn EU law into UK legislation before Britain leaves the European Union.

It's supposed to allow the gradual repealing of laws Britain wants to lose or change, while avoiding a legislative black hole on the day the UK Brexits.

Indian soldier thrashed over rumours of braid-chopping

In the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, a soldier was beaten up by a mob over rumours that he was involved in a string of braid-chopping incidents.

The soldier was later rescued by the Army.

Pres. Trump claims credit for success against Islamic State

U.S. President Donald Trump claims the reason why the Islamic State is falling is due to his changes in strategy.

The U.S. military says the operations to fully clear Raqqa of Islamic State fighters is contining.

Earlier, the U.S. military had indicated, it is using the strategy formulated under the Obama administration to continue to partner with forces in the region to defeat the group.

In an interview with conservative talk show host Chris Plante (of WMAL - a talk radio station in the American capital) U.S. President Donald Trump says, it's because he's president now that the Islamic State is giving up.

UN: Up to 15,000 Rohingya refugees awaiting entry into camp in Bangladesh

Tens of thousands of Rohingya refugees have been awaiting entry into
Bangladesh's refugee camp - and are facing a worsening humanitarian
situation, according to the United Nations.

The UN estimates that almost 600,000 Rohingya refugees have arrived in

late August.

The US American Football association, the NFL, has left its policy
unchanged and will not demand that players stand during the national
anthem.

It follows months of social protests with players kneeling during the
anthem - a move that US President Donald Trump says disrespects the
country.

The three and a half hour meeting between owners and players in New
