UN calls on North Korea to end child labor, detention

INTRO:

North Korea to end child labor - and uphold international standards on

EU Contines to Call Catalan Referendum Illegal

The European Commission is continuing to call the Catalan referendum illegal—all as the Spanish region says it declare independent in a matter of days.

And Spain's King Felipe the Sixth is only increasing the tension by also saying the vote violated the country's constitution.

Pres. Trump demands apology after Sec. Tillerson affirmation

U.S. President Donald Trump is now demanding an apology from NBC News after U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson came out to insist he's never offered his resignation.

In another sign of division in the Trump cabinet, NBC News and also the New York Times, reported that Secretary Tillerson called Donald Trump a moron and seriously considered resigning in July.

Tanzania President gets $48,000 salary per year

Tanzania's President John Magufuli says he earns $48,000 a year, making him among Africa's lowest-paid leaders. He says he's cutting civil servants salaries to $80,000 a year - even though they still earn nearly twice as much as him. Dan Ashby has the latest.

In an unusual public statement, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson affirmed his support for U.S. President Donald Trump's agenda and denied he ever thought about quitting.

According to NBC News, three officials confirmed that Secretary Tillerson called Donald Trump a moron and nearly quit in July.

Asked point blank about whether he called the president a moron, Secretary Tillerson dodged a direct answer.

Vegas gunman girlfriend back in US and will be questioned by police

The girlfriend of Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock is due to be questioned by police.

Very sad day for me - Pres. Trump to Las Vegas

U.S. President Donald Trump is travelling to Las Vegas to meet with first responders and victims of what is now being described as the first mass shooting in the U.S. using automatic weapons.

In the past year, perpetrator Stephen Paddock bought 33 guns, including a dozen 'bump stock' a device which easily converts a semi-automatic rifle to essentially an automatic rifle.

As he left for Nevada, President Trump again praised first responders and law enforcement.

EU orders Amazon to repay Luxembourg $295m in unpaid taxes

The European Union has ordered US tech giant Amazon to repay 295 million dollars in taxes to Luxembourg.

An investigation found Amazon was sending three quarters of its profits through a company which wasn't being taxed anywhere in the European Union.

Calls for Johnson to go over Libya remarks
