Puerto Rico in crisis in wake of Hurricane Maria

Puerto Rico has no water, electricity or telephones services as it faces a growing crisis in the wake of Hurricane Maria.

The entire population of the US territory is still without power and engineers say it could take months to be restored. 

A dam remains in danger of collapsing and bringing more flooding to parts of the island.

Trump: NFL row is "nothing to do with race"

President Trump says his criticism of American football players who refuse to stand for the country's national anthem has "nothing to do with race".

Indian "godman" challenges rape conviction in high court

Pres. Trump insists sports tweet storm not about race

London Mayor Defends Decision Not To Grant Uber A New Licence in London

London Mayor and chairman of Transport for London, Sadiq Khan, had defended a decision not to renew hail-and-ride app Uber's licence in the capital.

EU considers sanctions against Poland in rule of law dispute

The European Union is assessing whether to impose sanctions on one of its own member states - Poland - over reforms to the country's courts.

Brussels will need the support of the other 27 EU member to be able to impose the sanctions.

UN Peacekeepers Killed In Mali

WADA to begin audit of Russian anti-doping agency

Kingfisher tycoon Vijay Mallya reported to have diverted funds to shell companies

Controversial Indian tycoon Vijay Mallya - best known for his Kingfisher brand - is reported to have allegedly diverted hundreds of millions of dollars into shell companies.

Trump administration expands controversial travel ban

The Trump administration has announced an expansion to an existing travel ban- which now includes North Korea, Venezuela and Chad.

Senior administration officials say the travel ban will not impact anyone with an existing visa, and the new restrictions are not time-bound, but conditions-based.

The travel ban is being expanded just as a core part of the original executive order, is set to expire.

Trump's travel ban revised yet again, now includes Venezuela and North Korea

President Trump is closing America's borders to citizens from Iran North Korea, and Venezuela in a further revision of the controversial travel ban that he introduced earlier this year.


Now, citizens from 8 countries will be blocked from entering the US in a move the President says will "protect the security" of America.

President Trump repeats his call for protesting NFL players to be stopped

U.S. President Trump has reiterated his position, that NFL players who protest the national anthem are 'disrespecting' the flag and country, and should be stopped.

The weekend was dominated by reaction to President Trump's controversial tweets, calling for a boycott of the NFL, over a wave of silent protests which saw high-profile players, donors and owners, take a stand against the president.
