TILLERSON: MYANMAR VIOLENCE MUST STOP

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has voiced his support for Myanmar's de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi in dealing her country's Rohingya crisis.

He called for violence to stop in Myanmar's Rakhine state.

Hundreds of thousands of people from Myanmar's Rohingya community have fled to Bangladesh since violence broke out last month in Rakhine.

Speaking in London, Secretary Tillerson called for a peaceful resolution to the crisis.

Democrats insist their is a DACA deal

Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer says there is a deal, all that needs to be worked out for DACA recipients is the details.

DACA stands for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals - a program to allow children bought to the U.S. without proper immigration papers to earn work and study permits.

Conservatives are furious that President Trump suggested he'd crafted a deal with the rival Democrats, with some saying none of his political promises are credible.

At least 50 dead in IS attacks in Iraq

Two terror attacks in southern Iraq have resulted in the deaths of at least 50 people.

80 other people have been injured.

Pres. Trump praises response to Hurricane Irma

U.S. President Donald Trump is praising the response to Hurricane Irma as local authorities are concerned about flooding risks to interstate 75, one of the main highways.

With the main power company for Florida saying it will take until September 22 to fully restore electricity of all of it's customers, the lack of air conditioning has been blamed for at least 8 deaths of senior citizens at a nursing home, with power outages continuing to affect about one-third of the state.

The death toll from Hurricane Irma is topping 81 across the United States and the Caribbean, but President Trump insists the response is going great.

UN appeal for international community to help Rohingya

The United Nations has urged the international community to do more to
help the nearly 400,000 Rohingya that have fled Myanmar.

This appeal comes a day after the UN Secretary-General Antonio
Guterres said developments in the country could best be described as

North Korea threatens nuclear attacks on US & Japan

North Korea has threatened to reduce the United States to "ashes and
darkness" and "sink" Japan.

Officials said they would use nuclear weapons on the two countries

Wall is vital - Pres. Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump has returned to insisting that the wall between Mexico and the United States must be funded and built.

Earlier, Democrat Congressional leaders were indicating, they thought a deal was in the works that addressed the Dreamers - the children of adults brought to the United States without proper immigration paperwork - while not funding construction of the wall.

Having posted on social media that the renovation of the border fences is underway, now President Trump is back to insisting the wall is critical.

Immigration deal unclear after White House talks

A public inquiry into the Grenfell Tower blaze has opened in London with a promise it will be wide-ranging and exhaustive.

The fire in an apartment block in the British capital killed at least 80 people in June.

The inquiry will look into its cause and rapid spread, as well as the role of the local government, and regulations on high-rise buildings.

Sir Martin Moore-Bick heads up the inquiry, and says he is conscious the effects of the fire will be felt for a long time to come.

Russia begins war games with Belarus

US stops issuing some visas in Cambodia
